Nov. 14 deadline set to submit proposals for showcase of Huskie Trek Talks 2026

Huskie Trek Talks is coming back on Saturday, April 18, 2026, with another exciting opportunity for faculty and staff to showcase innovative research, impactful programs and novel initiatives.

This unique experience elevates the hard work of our faculty and staff through storytelling. The event helps bring our community together by shining a bright light on the innovative Huskie spirit.

With $80,000 in grant funding available to be awarded, plus the opportunity to secure a graduate assistantship, Huskie Trek Talks offers presenters not only a platform to inspire and inform but also tangible resources to advance their ideas and impact.

Like TED Talks, Huskie Trek Talks feature concise, powerful stories from NIU faculty and staff who are shaping our university as innovators, educators, and leaders. The program not only showcases those selected to present but also helps prepare all participants for meaningful conversations with alumni and donors, extending the impact well beyond the stage.

The deadline for proposal submission is Friday, Nov.14. Finalists will be chosen and notified in December. Presenter coaching will take place from January through early April in preparation for the Trek Talks event later that month. Submit your proposal today!
