Wishing you a joyful holiday season

A message from Bill Pitney, acting dean of the NIU College of Education.

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Like it often does, December is delivering days that are frigidly cold next to days that seem to herald the arrival of spring. Snow is falling, sometimes barely sticking and sometimes not at all.

How we regard this roller coaster of weather is what’s important.

For those who hate shoveling, so far, so good. For those raring to ski or sled, optimism and hope glisten that those opportunities will come soon.

But no matter our side, we all welcome and embrace what this time of year means. Family. Friends. Gathering. Giving. Gratitude. Reflection on where we’ve come – and on what’s next.

As the year draws to a close, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere thanks for your hard work and dedication. I hope our upcoming holiday break brings you joy, peace, relaxation and renewal, and as you cross into 2025, my wish is that your new year is filled with health, happiness and continued success.

Thank you again for being part of the NIU College of Education family. As I prepare to contemplate all that fortifies me in my work here, please know that I will think of you.

Bill
