The NIU College of Education remembers these two members of our larger family.
Donna O’Hagan died Sunday, Sept. 6. She was 67.
O’Hagan, who worked as a vision teacher in local school districts, also supervised Teachers of the Visually Impaired interns from NIU for many years.
She also served as the cooperating teacher for Department of Special and Early Education Associate Professor Molly Pasley and as the TVI for current instructor, Rennet Ferns, and for many current and past Vision Studies students.
Funeral services were held Sept. 14.

Charissa Helena Berrini died Sunday, Sept. 6. She was 38.
Berrini earned her Ed.S. in Educational Administration from NIU in 202 while undergoing treatment for cancer, which her family calls “a testament to her strength, perseverance and belief in the importance of lifelong learning.”
She began her career in education at Thornton Township High School District 205 in 2013 and, most recently, was serving as assistant principal of Curriculum and Instruction.
Funeral services were held Sept. 12.
