Jason Klein and Timothy Dohrer co-authored “The Road to Retention: Understanding the Educator Shortage and Ways to Engage and Keep Educators” for KEEP Illinois, an initiative of the Illinois P-20 Network.

Keeping Educators Engaged Professionally (KEEP) Illinois is an effort to keep educators in the profession and engaged in learning and growing as professionals throughout their career.

Klein, the college’s senior director for Learning Partnerships, and Dohrer, director of Educator Leadership and Partnerships and research specialist, conclude that “improvements in overall school culture, climate and context impacts not only students but educators as well. There is also ample evidence that student wellness and mental health not only affects educators, but our school-based adults are also in need of this kind of support.”
