About 230 students turned out for Sunday’s Welcome Back Picnic on the Anderson Hall lawn for a good kickoff to the 2024-25 academic year and to make new friends – or to reconnect with old ones.
Joined by around 25 faculty, advisors, professional staff and administrators of the college, the students all received free COE T-shirts, sunglasses and frisbees, and all were able to put their names in the box for a chance to win a COE swag sampler at a later date.
Fun included food, games, the KNPE Majors Club climbing peg wall challenge and, of course, two baby goats to hold and snuggle from Tin Shed Farm in Sycamore. Orville and Little Louie were born in April of this year.
The guests also could chat with representatives of seven opportunities, including Aspiring Educators and the WNIJ Teachers’ Lounge podcast.
