Happy New Year!
We hope you all had a relaxing winter break and a good start to the new semester. We are thrilled to share all the exciting things going on in our program.
Spring is always a busy time for us. We look forward to supporting our graduating master’s students in completing their ePortfolios, which count as their comprehensive exam for the program, and preparing them for the job search.
We host several master’s recruitment events including our in-person Preview Day (Feb. 16) and our virtual CAHE GA Interview Day (March 7). We are also hosting several virtual information sessions for our doctoral programs as the deadline for applications is March 1.
Spring is also a time for celebrations. We look forward to hearing from our graduating master’s students what they learned in the program at their ePortfolio presentations and then celebrating them at the annual master’s hooding ceremony. We also can’t wait to hood a new class of doctoral students at the Graduate School commencement in May.
This spring, we are also excited to have a group of students and faculty traveling to the annual ACPA Convention in Chicago this March. ACPA – College Student Educators International is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, which will make this convention a particularly meaningful and special event. We are thrilled to introduce some of our master’s students to professional association involvement. We also would like to thank all of you who contributed to our crowdfunding campaign in fall, which made it possible for us to support six students in attending the convention.
On a personal note and as a member of the ACPA@100 committee, I would also like to encourage all of you to check out the various celebratory events ACPA has planned throughout the year. I am particularly excited for our collaboration with Student Affairs Now for monthly podcasts; the first podcast was released Jan. 10 and highlighted ACPA’s contributions to research and scholarship.
Please check out this newsletter to learn more about our program and the contributions of our faculty and students.
