Faculty and staff now can download a “Top 10 Ways to Support Student Success” informational sheet to guide their engagement in this effort.
Strategies outlined came directly from the breakout sessions held during the All-College Meeting when COE faculty and staff shared how they have served students during the pandemic as well as how to best serve student needs moving forward.
Faculty and staff are also encouraged to download “Student Success Champion” signs to post physically on walls and office doors or digitally within Blackboard pages, documents or in email signatures.

“We understand that visual displays, in and of themselves, do not create a community or an environment that fosters belonging,” Dean Laurie Elish-Piper said during the All-College Meeting. “These tools will be there just to show that you’re someone who is clearly committed to student success, and to send the message to all of our students that there are lots of us here – that they’re not alone. There are lots of us who support, care about and are invested in their success.”
Information related creating a belonging display; writing welcoming and supportive postcards and Post-It notes; and producing monthly themed videos to share with students will be forthcoming as we continue our focus on student success and belonging.
