Photo Gallery: Idea Exchange

The NIU College of Education’s first Idea Exchange stirred curiosity and enthusiasm for innovative and effective practices in teaching among the March 29 participants.

Modeled on speed-dating – or speed-networking for professionals – the fast-paced event put faculty, instructors and graduate teaching assistants face-to-face for ultra-quick conversations.

Dean Laurie Elish-Piper, a Distinguished Teaching Professor at NIU, and fellow College of Education Presidential Teaching Professors Toni Van Laarhoven and Tom Smith developed and designed the event.

Participants across the tables were Julia Cloat, Daryl Dugas, Elish-Piper, Teresa Fisher, Mary Gardner, Laura Hedin, Jesse “Woody” Johnson, Van Laarhoven, Natalie Young, Dianne Zalesky and Oliver Camacho, a graduate student TA from the Department of Counseling, Adult and Higher Education.

Here are some photos from the Idea Exchange.
