Hello, and welcome to summer! The temperatures and heat indices of mid-June leave no doubt that the lazy, crazy, hazy days are here.
I hope you’re finding time to rest, rejuvenate and indulge in whatever makes you happy, whether that’s traveling, catching up on your errands and chores or simply spending precious moments with family and friends.
While our schedules slow a bit, we nonetheless are finding Graham, Gabel and Anderson halls bustling with activity as we prepare for several leadership moves.
As previously announced, Bill Pitney is transitioning from his role as associate dean of Research, Resources and Innovation to return to Anderson Hall to teach in KNPE’s Athletic Training program. Succeeding him is KNPE Chair Todd Gilson, who will assume the associate dean role July 1 and relocate to Graham Hall.
We recently congratulated Steve Howell on his appointment as our new KNPE department chair and announced Eric Junco as our first director for Equity. Both Steve and Eric will assume their new roles in July.
I’m excited to see how Bill, Todd, Steve and Eric will positively impact our students and our college in their new roles.
Their contributions are sure to enhance our growing reputation and engagement on campus as we take steps to create a college culture of belonging as well as throughout our region as we intentionally partner with school districts, state agencies and private organizations to foster better opportunities and outcomes in our communities.
As our team and our footprint evolve, I’m excited to see all we accomplish together.
Please stay cool and see you soon.
My best,
