Dear College of Education team,
As we move deeper into the spring semester, I’m struck by how quickly these weeks are flying by. Each day, I continue to be in awe of the remarkable work happening across our college. The dedication, creativity and expertise you bring to our students and to one another is visible in every corner of our community.
I know this stretch of the semester is especially demanding. Multiple deadlines, events and activities are converging at once, yet you continue to show up with professionalism, care and a commitment to helping our students finish strong. Please know how deeply I appreciate the energy and gifts of talent you bring each day.
I also want to express my gratitude for the thoughtful feedback shared during the annual review process completed by our College Council. Your honest input about my transition into this role, what is working well and what could be improved moving forward is invaluable. I take your perspectives seriously, and I am committed to using this feedback to strengthen our work together.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to attend the many celebrations planned in April that highlight the achievements of faculty, staff and students. These moments of recognition matter, and I can’t wait to honor the accomplishments that make our university such a vibrant place to learn and work. I’m especially looking forward to seeing everyone at our May 1 Celebration of Excellence, where we will celebrate our local achievements.
At that event, I will also share an update on the progress we’ve made together during this academic year. In addition, I’ll outline our top focus areas for Year Two as we continue advancing our five-year plan. I’m eager to set the stage for the important work ahead.
Thank you again for everything you do. Your commitment is what propels this college forward, and I’m grateful to be on this journey with you.
With appreciation,
Mary
