Congratulations to these Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education alumni!

Max Finley, B.S.Ed. Kinesiology, ’17, was named athletic trainer for the South Carolina Stingrays, affiliate of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and AHL’s Hershey Bears. Finley was assigned to the Stingrays by MUSC Health, the team’s official health care provider. He spent the 2019-20 season as the athletic trainer for the Peoria Rivermen of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), and was named the league’s Athletic Trainer of the Year.

Jamie Hooyman, M.S.Ed. Kinesiology and Physical Education-Exercise Physiology, ’86, was honored in the Distinguished Alumni Class for 2020 by the North Central Missouri College Foundation. Hooyman, provost of Northwest Missouri State University since November 2017, is the first female in the university’s history to serve as its chief academic officer. She oversees learning, academic quality and student success, and leads the development and assessment of academic programming in partnership with the president, the Board of Regents, the Northwest Leadership Team, faculty, staff and students.
