Dr. Kimberly Lawless, associate dean of UIC’s College of Education, will present “Developing a Scientifically Literate Citizenry through Written Augmentation: The GlobalEd 2 Project” on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 4:30 p.m. in the Sky Room of the Holmes Student Center. Dr. Lawless’s research focuses on the effectiveness of technology in classrooms in improving reading comprehension skills of K-12 students. She writes and publishes widely on educational technology, instructional science, and reading. The NIU’s Division of Research and Innovation Partnerships’ Principal Investigator Academy for Research and Engagement and the Center for the Interdisciplinary Study of Language and Literature (CISLL) are sponsoring the event.
