Dean’s Grant recipients named

The Dean’s Office has announced the recipients of this year’s Dean’s Grants. The grants – two each for instructional innovation and research – provide up to $2,500 to assist faculty and/or staff in improving teaching, curriculum, and student academic success or in completing a pilot or small-scale study to prepare for submission of an externally funded grant. The recipients are:

Curricular Innovation Grants

  • Christine Kiracofe, LEPF:  “Education Law Primary Source Document Project”
  • Gary Swick, LEPF:  “Teaching Using the Tower Garden:  A Food From Classroom to Table Experience”

Research Grants

  • Pi-Sui Hsu, ETRA:  “Argue Like a Scientist with Technology: A Study of Developing Middle School Students’ Scientific Argumentation Skills in a Graph-Oriented, Computer-Assisted, Project-Based Learning Environment”
  • Todd Reeves, ETRA:  “Comparing Student Survey Item Design for the Measurement of Teachers’ Instructional Practices”
