Hey, football fans, come out to cheer on the Huskies as they take on the Eastern Michigan Eagles in NIU’s 109th Homecoming gridiron battle on Saturday, Oct. 24. And don’t forget to join your colleagues, students and alumni before the game at the College of Education’s tent in Alumni Village, where you can hazard a spin for fabulous prizes on the ever-popular Wheel-O-Fortune. Food will be available for purchase from DeKalb’s own Fatty’s restaurant. The Alumni Village will be located beside the Barsema Alumni & Visitor Center on Annie Glidden Road. The fun starts at 11 a.m. and continues until 2 p.m. Kick off is at 2:30 p.m.
Fun fact: The Northern Illinois University Homecoming originated with an alumni football game played on Oct. 10, 1903, and is the oldest major college alumni gathering in the state.
